This year's Ping YOUniverse was a global gathering of identity professionals, featuring insightful keynotes, hands-on workshops, and collaborative sessions. One of the captive moments at each YOUniverse was the unveiling of Helix, our strategic initiative dedicated to responsibly shaping the next generation of secure, AI-powered identity services. Helix aims to revolutionize identity management in the AI era by empowering AI agents with unique identities, ensuring authenticated and authorized interactions to foster trust and security in AI operations.
Ping’s thought leaders shared their perspectives on three pivotal trends shaping the future of identity: the expanding role of the identity provider (IdP), the erosion of trust, and the transformative potential of AI-driven automation. The interconnected world means identity extends beyond individuals to include devices, bots, AI agents, and more. The identity provider's role is rapidly evolving to accommodate this complexity and future-proof organizations for both current and unforeseen use cases.
Andre emphasized the importance of flexibility in IdP platforms, describing identity as “the fabric that connects people to everything in the digital world.” This adaptability is essential for businesses navigating hybrid cloud models, identity threats, and digital transformations. Peter elaborated further on the messy and multifaceted nature of real-world relationships across the workforce, B2B, and consumer segments. He highlighted the need for identity platforms capable of unifying diverse identities—human and non-human alike—into a cohesive and secure framework.
The rise of AI-generated deepfakes, social engineering, and sophisticated cyberattacks has eroded users' trust in digital systems. Andre highlighted the critical convergence of identity verification, authentication, and authorization as the foundation for restoring this trust. Peter addressed the growing threat of deepfakes, noting how AI challenges our ability to trust what we see and hear. As he pointed out, businesses must prioritize strategies to protect their identity platforms, accounts, and users against these emerging risks.

Andre described AI as both a challenge and an opportunity. At Ping YOUniverse, we proudly announced the winners of the eighth Identity Excellence Awards, recognizing organizations that have set new standards in identity security and customer experience:
A customer since 2019, DISH Network L.L.C., a subsidiary of EchoStar, represents successfully taking the leap to the cloud by migrating to PingOne Advanced Services. Results include exceptional and secure user experiences to its retail, wireless and 46 million Sling streaming service customers.
Truckstop, a leading freight transportation technology platform, deployed PingOne Protect, PingOne Verify, and PingOne Credentials to help reduce fraud while providing an exceptional experience for its brokers, carriers, shippers, and partners.

With the expertise of a premier system integrator, FedEx implemented Ping Advanced Identity Cloud (AIC), utilizing advanced authentication methods and enhanced login experiences. The collaboration between a premier system integrator, FedEx, and Ping is helping FedEx reduce costs while increasing trust and loyalty among its millions of diverse customers around the world.
HSBC is one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations, offering a comprehensive range of services to 60 countries and territories. Operating in a highly complex environment with diverse business units and customer use cases, HSBC launched the "OneDSP" platform based on Ping. The highly efficient ecosystem is utilised across various teams and implementations, thereby accelerating go-to-production timelines. Since the deployment, HSBC Wholesale DSP team can rapidly rollout new Ping services (improved from weeks to hours), simplify patching, and reduce bugs and incidents (one fix is incorporated into the base image). The new infrastructure better supports critical applications for a wide range of clients, including individuals, corporations, and governments.
Lloyds Bank is one of Britain’s largest retail and commercial banks, also serving Wales. The bank is undergoing a significant IT transformation with Ping–moving to the cloud in order to enhance agility, operational efficiency and security with a Zero Trust model. Lloyds needed to secure applications during the cloud migration while maintaining integrity, resilience, and seamless service availability. The AuthZ solution, powered by Ping Identity’s PingAM, revolutionized Lloyds’ security and operational efficiency, allowing seamless, secure migration to public clouds while reducing costs and enhancing scalability. Specifically, Lloyds experienced:

Tesco Bank, a UK-based retail bank serving over five million customers and processing 30 million transactions per day, sought to reduce fraud while enhancing security and more easily complying with regulatory requirements like PSD2 and Confirmation of Payee (CoP). A trusted Tesco Bank partner for years, ProofID deployed PingAuthorize to reduce account takeover and push payment fraud, while providing Tesco Bank with a single identity platform across web, mobile, API and telephony channels. By deploying PingAuthorize and integrating it with risk and fraud systems, Tesco Bank can take a risk-based approach to each transaction (login, registration, account recovery, account self-service, financial transaction, etc) and set authentication thresholds according to the risk profile. Tesco Bank also leverages PingFederate and PingAccess to secure authentication and authorization processes. The partnership between ProofID, Tesco Bank, and Ping ensures that Tesco Bank is more easily addressing compliance while protecting vulnerable customers and reducing fraud.
DB Schenker is a division of German operator Deutsche Bahn that provides logistics in 30 countries. The company wanted to improve the customer experience and reduce failed journeys by streamlining registration, login, and password recovery into a unified flow, improving security while minimizing friction points for 400,000 customers. DB Schenker deployed PingFederate for customized user interface and seamless journey integration; PingOne Protect for advanced risk detection and fraud prevention; and PingID for secure authentications. Deployed in just seven months, DB Schenker experienced:

ABN AMRO is the Netherlands’ third largest bank. The company wanted to modernize and future-proof its IAM platform to better serve its customers and its workforce. With an API-first strategy, ABN AMRO worked closely with Ping to deploy PingFederate, PingDirectory, PingID MFA, PingOne MFA, and PingAccess. Deployed in under a year, ABN AMRO is providing a more secure and exceptional experience for its internal and external users, meeting Compliance requirements easier than before and enabling the ability to deploy new services and meet new regulatory requirements as they emerge with ease.
Boost Bank is a collaboration between Axiata and RHB Banking Group, and one of five banks awarded a digital banking license from the Central Bank of Malaysia. The company began building its bank from scratch, all with Malaysians, with a Ping on-premise solution. During its regulatory approval process, Boost needed to quickly pivot to PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud, which offered private key sharing, which would remedy the Compliance challenge. So, the digital bank worked with Ping Professional Services to quickly pivot and migrate everything to the cloud in time for the launch. It was a huge partnership effort and the bank was up and running in just 5 months. Boost is delivering an exceptional banking-as-a-service experience with login times clocking in at 2 seconds max., passwordless options for safe and easy logins, new account creation in just 5 seconds, new partners and services being added every month--all while keeping costs low and productivity high.
As Malaysia's leading integrated telco, Maxis implemented Ping Identity with a Zero Trust architecture to improve service and security for its over 13 million customers and 10,000 business partners. By leveraging features like Intelligent Access, Lifecycle and Relationship Management and Social Identity, Maxis achieved:

PT Bank Jago Tbk (Bank Jago) offers banking services for retail, mass market, and MSMEs through its Jago app. To enhance service quality, meet regulatory requirements, and improve operational efficiency, Jago Bank upgraded its Ping IAM platform with Midships' assistance. The upgrade was completed in just 14 weeks, with production deployment in 2 weeks. Midships leverages an Accelerator, rapidly aiding the migration and fine-tuning of CI/CD pipelines. As a result, Jago Bank saw improved performance with Tomcat and Java updates, enhanced security, clustering, and faster change deployments via File Based Config in Ping 7.4. The dedicated pipeline for deploying dynamic configurations provided better control across environments.
Sydney Airport is the gateway to Australia and faced increasing demand for stronger security and a streamlined user experience. To address these challenges, Sydney Airport implemented Ping Advanced Identity Cloud (AIC), providing workforce identity governance (WF/IGA) for managing access and ensuring employees, contractors and partners have secure, appropriate system privileges. It also deployed a CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management), solution enhancing Sydney Airport’s customer experience, allowing seamless identity verification of digital services.
Sydney Airport's adoption of these solutions improved security, delivered greater operational efficiency, and provided a better customer experience. Specifically,

The Star Entertainment Group is an ASX-listed company that owns and operates integrated resorts. The Star Sydney, The Star Gold Coast and The Star Brisbane. In the evolving landscape that The Star operates within it was paramount to enhance the IAM infrastructure to support a leading digitally enabled entertainment provider and support the company on meeting the evolving Compliance requirements. In less than a year, digital transformation expert Versent deployed PingOne, PingOne Davinci, PingOne MFA and PingOne Risk to address these goals. The partnership with Versent, Ping and The Star, has established a scalable, efficient, and integrated IAM system for the Star that helps meet the business needs, supports future initiatives, improves security and reduces fraud with risk-based MFA and step-up authentication. The system also greatly enhances the customer experience with advanced identity verification and authentication processes to provide a seamless and secure experience to support the delivery of cashless transactions and digital wallets.
