eHealth Delivers Healthy Customer Experiences
The Objective
As eHealth grew and expanded its online presence, a primary objective was to implement an Identity as a Service (IDaaS) solution that would allow customers to move fluidly among web properties and applications using a single login. The health insurance firm sought to deliver rapid page load times and support usage spikes with no degradation in performance, while also lowering IT costs via reduced support calls.
The Challenge
The company faced three main challenges. One, customers had to track multiple login credentials across eHealth properties and channels. Two, other IDaaS offerings failed to support page load time goals of less than one second. And three, eHealth needed to ensure secure access to sensitive health information for its millions of customers.
The Solution
The PingFederate full-featured federation server provides secure SSO, API security and provisioning, where users securely access applications with a single identity using any device. It supports open standards and offers fast deployment, ensuring speedy time to value.
The Results
Web properties saw usage spikes for more than 1 million customers with zero degradation in performance. Customers encountered improved online experience with near-immediate page load after login. The end-to-end implementation took place in less than two months. And lastly, site “stickiness” increased as customers spent longer amounts of time interacting with the website.
